Good afternoon Javier, first of all, thank you for your question.

In response to your questions:

1- In my opinion, what are the functions of the IVAO board of directors?

- In my opinion, the board of directors is the strategic governing body responsible for the main functions necessary for the growth, maintenance, and positioning of the network. It is responsible for various things such as: strategic direction, legal and financial management, regulatory compliance, and oversight, including high-level disciplinary functions.

2- What immediate impact could I have if I were selected for the position?

- First, I need to familiarize myself with all the functions I will be assigned in the position, actively participate in meetings, and address any other matters that may be required of me. I also have several long-term ideas to foster the optimal growth of the network. One of these ideas, as I recently mentioned to Mr. Ralph Henschen in a meeting, is a long-term prevention plan for irregularities within the divisional staff. This plan aims to combat current instances of favoritism, regulatory non-compliance, and NDA breaches, promoting the maintenance of network integrity and ensuring an optimal and fair experience for users.

3- How do I plan to combine my activity on VATSIM with that on IVAO?

- Currently, as you correctly stated, I am active on both networks. However, I actually use VATSIM very little. I have flown occasionally when VATSIM is more active, but I don't intend for it to be my primary network. I don't hold any staff position or anything similar at VATSIM that requires my time.

I hope I've answered your questions. If anything is unclear or you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you and best regards!

Dear David, thank you for your application.
Could you outline, in your opinion, what the roles of the Board of Governors are? What real and immediate impact could you make if you were selected?
You are an active user on VATSIM. How do you intend to balance your activities on one platform with the responsibilities of the role on the other? Best regards.

Interim 2026 / Andrew Traian Stanescu - 131173

Dear Members of the Board of Governors,

My name is Andrew Stanescu, VID 131173. I have been part of IVAO for a long time, and this letter is my application for the interim Board of Governors election.

I will try not to make this longer than it needs to be, but I do want to give you an honest picture of who I am and why I think I can be useful here.

By profession, I spent over 25 years in aviation. Various roles, various responsibilities — the kind of career that teaches you a lot about how things work when they work well, and perhaps even more about what happens when they don't. I am Romanian, though I have lived in the United Kingdom for many years now. After retiring from active aviation work, I set up my own Managed Security Services Provider in London, which has kept me close to the worlds of compliance, governance, data protection, and organisational risk. Not the most glamorous description, I know, but these are exactly the areas that matter when you are sitting on a board responsible for a non-profit with real legal obligations.

On the IVAO side, I founded the Romanian Division. That was one of the things I am most proud of in my time here. I also served as ATC Operations Assistant Director, along with other roles within the Romanian Division across the years. These were not titles I held lightly. I took the work seriously, and the people involved made it worth taking seriously. I am currently also a candidate for the General Assembly, because at this point in my involvement with IVAO, I want to contribute at the level where the real decisions are made.

I am not going to list my personality traits as if this were a CV. What I will say is that I have spent my career in environments where staying calm, thinking clearly, and being straight with people were not optional qualities. I have managed teams, navigated difficult situations, and made decisions under pressure. I am also a father of two, which teaches you a particular kind of patience and perspective that no professional role quite replicates.

I care about IVAO. I have for a long time. The network means something — to me, and to a great many people who have built part of their lives around it. Serving on the Board of Governors would be a way of contributing to it at a level that genuinely matters, and I would not be applying if I did not believe I had something real to offer.

Thank you for reading this, and for your consideration.

Warm regards,
Andrew Stanescu VID 131173

Interim 2026 / Kévin Faussadier - 243317

Hello,

I am submitting my application for the IVAO Board of Governors as part of the interim elections.

About myself : in my real like work, I am Head of EMEA IT Support for a global reinsurance group, where I manage distributed teams and their managers across multiple countries. I coordinate complex projects, set strategic priorities, ensure operational stability, resolve conflicts, and maintain motivation in a fast-paced international environment. This experience gives me daily practice in leadership, governance, and long-term planning, skills directly relevant to the responsibilities of a BoG member.

I have been an active IVAO member since 2007. I have served as staff in the Ireland division in multiple roles and contributed to France division activities. Currently, I am also part of the Social Media team, which keeps me closely involved in network communications and engagement. Over the years, I have participated in numerous World Tours and major events, developing hands-on experience in coordination, project oversight, and volunteer engagement.

I believe my combination of professional experience and long-standing dedication to IVAO would allow me to contribute immediately to the Board of Governors. I am ready to support strategic planning, organisational oversight, and the long-term development of the network, while ensuring that volunteers and divisions are empowered and motivated.

I remain available to discuss my application or provide additional details if required.

Thank you for your consideration.

Best regards,
Kévin FAUSSADIER

Hi Erdem,

thank you for your message and for taking the time to review my application.

Hi Guiseppe, since I didn't get any answer from you for over a week, I assume you are not interesting anymore to join the BoG therefore cannot support your application this time. Wish you a good luck.

First of all, I would like to sincerely apologise for not replying earlier. The delay was not intentional and does not reflect a lack of interest in the Board of Governors.

Unfortunately, I was unable to access my account for a period of time and therefore could not log in to reply. The issue has since been resolved after resetting my password with the support of the BoG — at this point, I would like to sincerely thank Yanis for his assistance. I fully understand that timely communication is essential, especially in the context of a BoG application, and I regret the confusion this caused.

Regarding your questions:

1) You don't have any activity for more than a year, do you think you have enough time?

It is correct that my visible IVAO activity has been lower over the past year. This was mainly due to significant changes in my real-life career and responsibilities. These circumstances have now stabilised. I am confident that I can commit sufficient and reliable time to the responsibilities of a Governor role. My intention to apply is based on a realistic assessment of my availability and my willingness to prioritise Board-related duties appropriately.

2) Why you did not apply NPO first to gain more experience?

I deliberately chose not to apply for an NPO position prior to this application. My motivation was not a lack of interest in operational roles, but rather the wish to contribute on a strategic and governance level, based on my previous IVAO experience and my professional background in communication, stakeholder management, and organisational responsibility. I am fully aware that NPO experience can be valuable; however, I believe that my past HQ involvement and my real-life professional experience allow me to contribute meaningfully at Board level as well.

I completely understand your position and respect your conclusion regarding support for my application. Nevertheless, I wanted to clarify these points to avoid any further misunderstanding regarding my motivation or commitment.
Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,
Giuseppe
